Saturday football.

The PDFL and PFA look after things for local Saturday football which I've always kept an eye on as friends are involved with running teams and playing for them.

At present the Premier Leagues looks like going to the wire between several teams and it's a league that is well worth keeping an eye on, local guys such as Gino Agius, Tommy Cooper, Al Lehnian, Alex Brown and Johhny Bryne etc are all at the helm of some of the top sides, thats not to mention some of the players including the likes of Dean Clarke (hot 7 goals for Oundle this weekend, yes thats SEVEN in 1 game), Ian Edge, Lee Harbour and Chris Garwell etc, these are all well known faces around the local football scene and are creating quite a buzz this season with a very competitive league.

Our local paper the Peterborough Evening Telegraph does well to keep us informed, but for a more in depth look at things you could take a look here at PST (Peterborough Sports Talk) - www.pst-uk.co.uk/forum there are plenty of local players, managers and spectators all willing to offer their opinions on the games they may be involved in, it's a no holds barred forum so please visit with an open mind and with tongue firmly in cheek!

Look out for the PSL chairman Tommy Cooper as he's posted on PST a bet (for charity) on who will win the PDFL Premier league with teams getting points headstart based on a grading system he judged at the start of the season, plenty of local lads have taken the bet with updates happening on a frequent basis, who's winning and more importantly who's last and deserving a ribbing...
